Fall is an amazing time to get outside and explore the brilliant colours and changes as the seasons change. The weather trends towards cooler mornings and sunny afternoons, making it hard to feel prepared with the proper outdoor gear, but it is so important to remember that proper clothing lays the best foundation for building a love of learning outdoors in our children.
Celebrate our 10th Summer Camp Season with us in 2024! Oak Learners offers a unique summer camp experience designed to engage children and make them want to return year after year.
Spring is the perfect time to get outside and explore what nature has to offer, from hunting for worms to jumping in puddles. Here are a few suggestions when shopping for spring outdoor gear to ensure your child stays warm, dry, and loving the new life all around this spring.
This winter we have a lot to look forward to! From exploring snow hills to ice crystals to making igloos and snow angels. Help your little learners stay warm and dry this winter so they can continue learning and having fun in comfort. Outside exploration has been proven to lead to a plethora of benefits that helps your child develop crucial skills. At Oak Learners, our students are outside for extended periods of time in all winter weather: snow, rain or shine. Regardless of the forecast, we will continue encouraging our students to explore the natural world around them while pushing boundaries and taking risks.
At Summer Camps, sometimes we really do get to live out our childhood dreams and play with our food! Our very own garden was the classroom for this week! Campers explored how to plant & grow their own food and then prepare it for themselves, friends and family.
Two weeks of Summer Camp just flew by! And we aren’t just saying that because we took a trip around the world! We learned about different cultures and their structures! We made art such as the Chinese Dragon, a Traditional African neckpiece & a Dasara Elephant craft! Our specialty campers learned all about Environmental science with our resident scientist, Richard! We learned about water pollution & experimented with storms in a jar!
The beauty of art is that there are no limits. It unleashes our imagination and creativity!
Art is used in many ways, such as for therapy, to express ourselves or our thoughts.
Tape Resist art challenges children to use different colours and create their designs with the tape. The best part is seeing what it looks like once they remove the tape!
Ever wonder what to do with your kids during those rainy days? We know getting active and moving our bodies are good for us, but how many of us actually spend time intentionally get our bodies moving? This activity will get your kiddos moving while having fun! Even better is the bonding that happens between families when they work out together. I hope you have a blast with this fun dance activity.
