1 July 2-5 (4days) Celebrate Canada Our home and native land! Start your summer with an engaging and entertaining celebration of Canada. From Alberta to Zambonis, campers will explore famous Canadians, a rich history and stunning geography, artistic and cultural traditions, and the future of our home.
2 July 8-12 Exploring Art in Nature Let’s get messy and explore the beauty of the world around us! This is the week for campers who like to draw, paint, and create. Each day, campers will explore different artistic mediums and methods, both in the studio and out in nature. They will learn how nature often inspires art and how to look for such inspiration each and every day. Throughout the week, campers will work towards producing a portfolio of art and share their work in a special gallery for parents and friends.
3 July 15-19 Junior Scientists Calling all backyard scientists! Would you like to explore fun aspects of science through exciting outdoor adventures and hands-on experiments? Our Junior Scientists will explore aspects of Science from Astronomy to Zoology and everything in between in a wonderful mix of excitement, experimentation, and exploration. Eureka!
4 July 22-26 Summer in the City Love where you live! This week, campers will celebrate their great city and investigate ways to improve it. Let’s get outside and enjoy what our neighbourhood has to offer! Campers will learn about the natural wonders in our own backyards. They will engage in hands-on activities that encourage them to think about sustainability and inventions to make Toronto even better.
5 July 29-Aug 2 Let the Games Begin Get Set, Go! The 2024 Olympic Games kick off on July 26th in Paris, France! This week will celebrate Canadian athletes and create future competitors. In this active week, campers will design their own games and compete to beat their own goals and targets. The week will culminate with a camp-wide Olympic-style fun competition!
6 Aug 6-9 (4day) Musical Theatre Casting call! Campers in this specialty camp will work with a guest instructor to explore all aspects of performance arts, including singing, dancing, and acting. Over the course of the week, they will work together to prepare a special performance that will be shared on the last day of the week.
7 Aug 12-16 Food & Gardening Our very own garden will be the classroom for this week, while campers explore how to plant, grow, and prepare their own food! We will be getting our hands dirty in the garden while campers explore the science of growing food, including seeds, soil, water, and more. They will also learn how to harvest food from the garden to prepare new and nutritious snacks for themselves and the rest of the camp.
8 Aug 19-23 Bugs & Butterflies Insects and creepy-crawlies! During this week, campers will explore the fascinating world of the little creatures in the parks nearby. Campers will learn about the life, and habitat, and have the chance to investigate where they can find the bugs. Making their annual cameo, this week will be a busy week for our native and endangered Monarch butterflies and caterpillars as they devour milkweed and metamorph in front our very eyes!

 

Oak Learners offers a unique summer camp experience designed to engage naturally inquisitive and active children. 

Mindfulness: In addition to participating in guided yoga and meditation exercises, campers will participate in specially designed self-awareness activities, giving each camper time to be introspective, ask questions, relax and be creative.
STEAM: Through Science-Technology-Engineering-Arts-Math activities, campers will have the opportunity to develop their social skills, confidence and cognitive flexibility. 
Community: Campers will spend as much time outdoors as possible, enjoying local field trips that are designed to encourage them to explore their natural surroundings and develop an understanding of their own roles in nature and in our surrounding community.


Special Notes:

Lunch

Campers should attend camp with enough food and water. Please note that their lunch should be:

  • Healthy
  • Garbage-free
  • Enough to last the day
  • Nut-free
  • In a labelled lunch bag

Other items

Campers will also need:

  • A refillable water bottle, labelled with the camper's name
  • Appropriate footwear for outdoor exploration and nature walks
  • Clothing appropriate for daily activities, including sunscreen and hats

Timings

Please note the following to ensure a smooth running of each day.

  • Day camps run from 9am-4pm
  • Drop-off from 8:45-9:00
  • Pick-up from 3:45-4:00

Extended hours are available for an additional fee.
Our extended day options are: 8:00am-9:00am ($50 per week) and/or 4:00pm-6:00pm ($50 per week). Registration for the extended day is per-week to allow us to plan for regular staffing and supervision.

Fees & Registration

Full payment of fees must be received at the time of registration to reserve a spot for Summer Camps.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations of summer camp programs made before June 1 of the same program year are subject to a 10% administration fee. Cancellations of summer camp programs made on or after June 1 of the same program year are subject to a 50% administration fee. Absolutely no cancellations will be processed within 7 days of the start date of the session to be cancelled.

Force Majeure Clause

The above cancellation policy is not applicable during a time of Force Majeure; an Act of God or circumstances beyond our control (i.e. pandemic, quarantine, natural disaster, etc.). In the case that Oak Learners is unable to provide comparable instructional programming through online learning methods, a credit towards tuition fees will be applied. All withdrawal requests made during the Force Majeure period will be provided with a credit, calculated as per the withdrawal policy towards a future program registration. The lifetime credit can be used towards any future Oak Learners program registration and is transferable to any immediate family member.
