How to Pick the Right Summer Camp for your Child – Oak Learners
Summer is just around the corner and parents, it’s time to start thinking about summer camps for your kids. With so many options available both locally, and around the GTA, it can be overwhelming to choose the right one for your child. But don’t worry, we’ve got you covered! In this post, we’ll guide you through the process of choosing the perfect summer camp for your child that will ensure their best summer yet.
Firstly, consider your child’s interests and hobbies. What does your child enjoy doing? Do they prefer outdoor activities or indoor ones? Are they interested in sports or arts and crafts? It’s important to choose a camp that aligns with their interests while also considering camps that give your child new opportunities and experiences. Discovering camps that provides a mixture of unique and fun activates can provide your child with the ability to try new things and develop new skills that they may not normally try. Camp can also be a great opportunity for kids to learn about new interests, hobbies and activities they may normally not be aware of. Finding a camp that provides a wide range of themes, activities and challenges can be very beneficial to ensuring your kid will learn new skills and try new things this summer.
At Oak Learners, we offer a variety of activities to suit every child’s interest. From arts and crafts to sports and games to exploring their community our camps are designed to provide a fun and engaging experience for all campers. Activities are based on the weekly themes which have been planned by our dedicated camp team. Campers will have the opportunity to spend time outside in the local community and discover what makes their neighbourhood special. New to this summer Oak Learners is also offering specialized summer camps for campers looking to expand their camp experience. Campers in this specialty camp will work with a guest instructor for two weeks to explore bi weekly themes and activities.
Another important factor to consider when deciding upon the right summer camp for your child is the counselor to camper ratio. This is especially important for younger children or children who may need more individual attention during their time at camp. At Oak Learners, we maintain a high counselor to camper ratio to ensure that every child receives personalized attention and guidance during their time at camp. This lets camp counselors get to know each child and what they are both interested in and worried about to help make their time at camp the best it can be.
Finally, consider the places your child will visit and the experiences they’ll have during their time at camp. Will they have the opportunity to explore nature, parks or discover what makes their community unique and special? These experiences can be valuable for your child’s personal growth and development and make sure your child is connecting to their local environment and community. Oak Learners offers a range of exciting off site activities that provide campers with unique experiences. From visits to parks, splash pads, hiking trails to trips to the library and waterfront, our campers get to explore the world around them while having fun and making new friends along the way.
Choosing the right summer camp for your child requires careful consideration of your child’s own interests, activities offered, the counselor to camper ratio, and the experiences they’ll have. At Oak Learners, we provide a safe, engaging, and fun summer camp experience for all children. With two convenient locations located on Royal York Road and Lake Shore Blvd and our new specialized camps, we’re confident that your child will have a summer they’ll never forget.
