New 2023 Oak Learners Summer Camp spots are filling up quickly! We offer a unique summer camp experience designed to engage children and make them want to return year after year. Discover our new specialty camps!

Creativity: We encourage campers to be creative and explore various means of expression. We plan out a variety of activities including music and art to allow campers to ‘give it a go’.

Mindfulness: In addition to the engaging and busy camp activities, we plan in times where campers can take time to reflect and relax. Mindfulness activities include yoga, meditation, specific self-awareness activities and time to stop and think.

STEAM: Through Science-Technology-Engineering-Arts-Math activities, campers will have the opportunity to develop their social skills, confidence and cognitive flexibility.

Community: Campers will spend as much time outdoors as possible. They will enjoy field trips that give them the opportunity to experience situations that they might not usually have the chance to.
Campers can explore natural surroundings and understand their part in nature and the local community.

This expanded experience of our classic Arts & Adventures Camps provides more time for campers, counselors and specialist instructors to build relationships and explore bi-weekly themes in greater depth. Each theme brings a new experience. Campers will spend the majority of the day participating in cross-curricular activities related to the theme while also getting outside and exploring the local community and the beauty within it.

They will experience learning in a different way, both inside and outside! Campers will take trips to places such as the Humber River, Mimico Creek Trail, Humber Bay Shores and Mimico Waterfront.

Activities may include:

  • Animal explorations
  • Hiking
  • Survival skills
  • Mindfulness activities
  • Nature trails
  • Sketching sceneries
  • Team games and team building activities

Campers will also have the opportunity to visit local splash pads and wading pools and you will be notified of “water days” to help pack accordingly.

Campers are strongly encouraged to pack lightly with everything they need for the whole day.

Camp will be indoors only for certain days if it is necessary for campers and the counsellors safety. Counsellors will plan for ‘rainy days’ but may need to use an indoor location if there are extreme weather warnings.

Two students from Oak Learners have their artwork featured at this year’s Tis the Season Art Show at the Assembly Hall at Humber College. Featuring art created by students from local schools, the works in this exhibition speaks to the seasonal changes from autumn to winter, like snowfalls and long periods of darkness, and the cultural traditions they help shape. The exhibition is open from November 19 to December 18, 2024.
