Extracurricular Activities

by | Apr 5, 2021 | Music

Outside of the classroom Oak Learners also offers extracurricular activities for children to participate in. Extracurricular activities provide children with the opportunity of incorporating fun into learning while still following the school curriculum. Sounds amazing, doesn’t it? I am sure all children would agree, as this gives them the opportunity to have fun and explore the world in which they live in while learning at the same time! So, what do these extracurricular activities involve? They include awesome field trips, activities that take place within Oak Learners community and spending time in the outdoors! With this being said all of these activities are incorporating the curriculum, it is the best of both worlds! The staff at Oak Learners include times for the children to engage in free play but also create games for the children. The staff explain the rules of the game they will be participating in but always ensure the children have fun while enhancing their social skills within group play.

Melissa Shoesmith

Hello, my name is Melissa Shoesmith and I am currently in my fifth semester at Seneca College in the Bachelors of Child Development program. I am completing my field placement here at Oak Learners. Working with children is the most rewarding job in the world in my opinion. I love having the opportunity to watch children learn and grow. I always want to make a positive impact on a child's life!
