This year, the much-anticipated Peak Bloom of the High Park Cherry Blossoms in Toronto occurred during the final week of April and our students took the opportunity to visit this spectacular showcase of nature at its finest despite the lower-than-seasonal temperatures.
We have to celebrate the good days and remember what is special in our lives. Thankfully, we have life and that is because of the Earth. SO, let’s celebrate and use the things it gives us to show its beauty.
On a beautiful spring afternoon in mid-May, we noticed that our local park was blanketing in gorgeous yellow dandelions. The fields of green and yellow seemed to stretch forever, providing us an opportunity to reflect on the absolute beauty of the natural world around us.
Daily outdoor lessons in green spaces has the potential to boost focus, confidence and self-regulation in young children, thereby setting them up for greater academic and social-emotional success.
