Oak Learners Summer Camps 2021
Summer Camps are now FULL for 2021.
Please check back in December for the launch of our 2022 Summer Camps.
Oak Learners offers a unique summer camp experience designed to engage naturally inquisitive and active children.
Mindfulness: In addition to participating in guided yoga and meditation exercises, campers will participate in specially designed self-awareness activities, giving each camper time to be introspective, ask questions, relax and be creative.
STEAM: Through Science-Technology-Engineering-Arts-Math activities, campers will have the opportunity to develop their social skills, confidence and cognitive flexibility.
Community: Campers will spend as much time outdoors as possible, enjoying local field trips that are designed to encourage them to explore their natural surroundings and develop an understanding of their own roles in nature and in our surrounding community.
**COVID-19 HEALTH AND SAFETY PROCEDURES**
Oak Learners regularly reviews and implements precautions and enhancements to our camps and programming to protect the health and safety of our campers and our staff, as per the guidelines from the Ontario Ministry of Health and Toronto Public Health. Read more.

A typical day includes mindfulness activities, outdoor adventure trips to a local park or nature trail and time to work on their STEAM (Science-Technology-Engineering-Arts-Math) activities throughout the day. Weekly excursions to local destinations are planned to foster experiential learning and increase their understanding of the elements that have been learned throughout the week. Each week also includes at least one or two visits to a local splash pad or wading pool. You will be notified each week which days are intended to be “Water Days” so you can pack accordingly.

A typical day includes mindfulness activities, bug and wildlife exploring, hiking, and outdoor survival skills. Each week also includes at least one or two visits to a local splash pad or wading pool. You will be notified each week which days are intended to be “Water Days” so you can pack accordingly.
Since the entire camp day, 9am-4pm, is spent outdoors, campers and counsellors will enjoy picnics at scenic spots for morning and afternoon snacks as well as lunch. Campers are encouraged to pack lightweight day packs with all of the provisions they will need throughout the day.
Eco Adventures Camp is entirely outdoors, rain or shine. In the event of inclement weather, a suitable indoor alternative location will be found to keep the campers and staff safe.

Sense of “Place” and Belonging,
Local Culture and Heritage
It was my son’s first time at camp (he’s 4.5 years old). He absolutely loved it and was a little sad it was over. I loved that they challenged him. Every day was an activity that incorporated art, music, movement, and fun. The teachers were AWESOME and the location is so welcoming. We can’t wait to return next summer. Highly recommended!
Oak Learners is a wonderful place for kids. My son attended their camp for three weeks this summer and he was so happy there. He would rush to join his counselors and friends in the morning forgetting to say goodbye to his parents, and that says a lot. And in the evening he wouldn’t stop talking about all the fun they were having.
My son attended his first day camp last week at Oak Learners. To say he loved it would be an understatement. They built a fun soap volcano, saw caterpillars and watched them eat and grow, and even managed a visit to a splash pad. They did many arts and crafts projects which are now displayed at home. Thank you to Oak Learners for a great week!
