Oak Learners is not a normal school, it is an extraordinary private school that provides children with a learning environment that lives beyond the four walls of a classroom. As a parent, you always want the absolute best for your children and to find the school that best suits the needs of your child. During an interview with a parent of children that attend Oak Learners, it was mentioned that when searching for a school that was perfect for her children, schools had said that they do not deal with certain behaviours that may be seen within the classroom. As a parent that is not something you would want to hear, as they will not feel as if their child will be supported within the classroom in every aspect. At Oak Learners they offer an individual approach to learning which allows children to work on different skill sets while setting goals to meet their unique needs. Oak Learners promotes positive learning experiences that use the children’s strengths to work on the areas of weakness. Support is always available as Oak learners prioritizes mental health and social emotional learning as this is part of their core curriculum for the children. This is a huge priority for Oak Learners for the reason that this is one of the key component’s children can receive for academic success. Additionally, Oak Learners provides children with the skills they need to become more independent in the areas of self-care. A mom of children who attend Oak Learners had noticed that her children were able to get dressed, prepare parts of their own meals, attend to needs of personal hygiene since these things are fostered within the classroom environment.

Melissa Shoesmith

Hello, my name is Melissa Shoesmith and I am currently in my fifth semester at Seneca College in the Bachelors of Child Development program. I am completing my field placement here at Oak Learners. Working with children is the most rewarding job in the world in my opinion. I love having the opportunity to watch children learn and grow. I always want to make a positive impact on a child's life!
Keep up with Oak Learners
