back to school love to learn

Welcome Back to School

Whether you’re joining us through the Oak Learners classes, or attending another school! It is an exciting time for parents and students around Canada to begin their first days back to school. Bringing all of that excitement in, there are many things that should be considered when bringing your students back into the classroom, and here are 4 tips to help start off the school year!

1. Organize a Schedule and Agenda

Setting up a schedule planner to organize your childs day is a great way to get them in the groove to start the school year off. Getting them motivated in anyway to get school work done ahead of time, or plan out tests in advance can greatly improve their success. As some schools provide you an agenda, using that would be a great example!

2. Participate in First Day Activities & Ice Breakers

Every class will typically have some sort of ice breaker to start their school year off. Participating in these activities, and getting to know your classmates, and your teachers can leave a great first impression. Being social and active in classroom environment can help motivate the students to feel more welcome, willing to put more effort and work in, and also have more success in the classroom.

3. Talk to New Faces and Try to Participate in Classes

Introducing yourself to new faces, reconnecting with old friends, and a bit of everything. On top of this, participating in classes as often as possible to get the best learning experience you can. Students will retain a lot more information when asking more questions, confirming knowledge they may understand, and actively being apart of every class.

4. Try to Have Fun

Although studying and working can be tough at times, remembering to always have fun when participating in activities. Sharing the happiness with other classmates and being overall positive in your classes can often influence other classmates to do the same.

Oak Learners has great day school and tutoring options. You can check out the day school where students learn all kinds of skills including getting back into the groove for back to school.
