paper plate dinosaurs

ROARR! Dinosaurs are so popular amongst children, and who can blame them! They may like them so much that they become so knowledgeable about dinosaurs that many adults may not be aware of. With their fascination with dinosaurs, what is better than being able to make their own by simply using recyclable items such as a paper plate and cardboard toilet paper rolls?! The great thing about this activity is you can make any dinosaur your child prefers, but today, we will be making the Brontosaurus!

Materials

  • 2 Toilet Paper rolls
  • A Paper Plate
  • Tempera Paint
  • Cotton Balls
  • Scissors
  • Glue (and, or Stapler)
  • Cardstock (or Construction Paper)
  • Black marker
  • Googly eyes (optional)

Video Instructions

Extend the Activity!

To extend the activity, you can continue to use recyclable materials to make the natural habitat of the dinosaur(s)! You can also learn more about dinosaurs together with your children through documentaries, videos or books.

Happy Dinosaur Making!
