Parent/child Yoga Classes from tot to tween (ages 3-12)

Class Overview

Classes focus around fun themes like animals, places, etc. and aim to engage both parent and child in a variety of yoga positions (or asanas), breathing practices, and mindfulness practices. Yoga sequences will include modifications for all abilities and parent-child interactive options for deeper connections.

In this class, students will:

  • Explore a variety of movement principles through music and sound.
  • Build an understanding of how their body moves through space
  • Strengthen core gross-motor movement skills through dance and yoga
  • Develop an understanding of the importance of body awareness
  • Build an understanding of how Yoga poses and breathing help build strength, stability and flexibility in our bodies
  • Build an understanding of how breathing changes the way our body moves

Things to note:

  • One parent/caregiver per child.
  • Children and parents should aim to stay on their mat for a full 45-60 minutes of yoga (option to share mats or take breaks, especially for younger children or children with higher needs).
  • Yoga mats are provided. Bring a water bottle/electrolyte drink!

 

Description

Parent/child Yoga Classes from tot to tween (ages 3-12)
Saturdays from 1:45 PM – 2:45 PM, starting on Saturday, February 24
Classes will take place on the following Saturdays: Feb. 24, March 2, March 23, Apr. 6, Apr. 14, Apr. 20 ** There will be no classes on March 9, 16, or 30.
