Summer Camp is for Art and Adventure at Oak Learners

Aug 18, 2023 | Camps, Outdoor Education

We wrapped up weeks 3 & 4 of Summer Camp 2023 with new perspectives and messy hands!

What an exciting two weeks. Our themes these past two weeks were “Art Attack/Summer in the City” & our speciality camp was “Visual Art & Nature”

For our Art Attack theme, our resident artist, Sarah, taught us all about negative & positive space, colour theory & water colour techniques…. just to name a few! We had so many hands-on projects this week.

We love to experiment & get messy around here!

For our visual Art & Nature Specialty Camp, our resident scientist

Dr. Richard, taught us about:

Measuring Grass Health by Colour

Plant Genetics

& Identifying bugs, flowers & leaves just to name a few activities!

What a blast! Stay tuned for the next few weeks of adventures! And… the adventures don’t just stop here! We will be announcing our fall programming very soon!

The Best Fall Outdoor Clothing for Kids

Fall is an amazing time to get outside and explore the brilliant colours and changes as the seasons change. The weather trends towards cooler mornings and sunny afternoons, making it hard to feel prepared with the proper outdoor gear, but it is so important to remember that proper clothing lays the best foundation for building a love of learning outdoors in our children.
