World Oceans Week 2024: The Future of Water

ETOBICOKE, ONTARIO
For the month of June, our students are focused on the sustainability & life of Canadian waters. We are focusing on:
- conservation
- plastics – microplastics – garbage patch
- layers of the ocean
- rocks, geology, glaciers
- tides & the moon
- currents & weather systems
- buoyency – salt water vs plain water
- water systems
- salt water desalination
We frequently take trips of to the Humber River & Lake Ontario during our inquiry-based units and we will expand the unit for Ocean Week Canada to include water monitoring with Water Rangers equipment. Our older school will create a water sustainability project based on their findings & open it up as an event for parents & students.
