A visit to see the High Park Cherry Blossoms

Apr 26, 2024 | School Life

Each year, the Cherry Blossoms at High Park draw significant crowds from all over the GTA when they reach “Peak Bloom” for just one short week!

According to the High Park Nature Center, “Peak bloom” starts when at least 70% of the blossoms are open. Once open, flowers last from 4-10 days, depending on weather conditions. Cool, calm weather can extend the bloom period, while warm, unsettled weather can shorten it.

This year, the much-anticipated Peak Bloom occurred during the final week of April and our students took the opportunity to visit this spectacular showcase of nature at its finest despite the lower-than-seasonal temperatures.
