What is B.A.S.E. Camp?

B.A.S.E. Camp (Before and After School Enrichment) is Oak Learners’ morning and afternoon program designed to bookend your child’s day with intention. Just as a climber’s base camp provides the foundation for every great adventure, our program gives children a grounding space, somewhere to arrive, settle in, build friendships, and ready themselves for whatever the day holds.

Royal York Campus | School Pickup Locations

Currently this program serves the following schools from our Royal York Campus:

  • George R. Gauld (GRG)
  • St. Louis
  • St. Leo
  • John English

A minimum of 4 enrolled children per school is required to establish a pickup location.

Included in B.A.S.E. Camp

Every B.A.S.E. Camp enrollment includes:

  • Flexible scheduling: Choose Before School, After School, or both, with full-time and part-time options available
  • Transportation: Walking or minivan service to and from your child’s school
  • Small group environment: 8:1 camper-to-staff ratio so every child is known and supported
  • Daily homework support: Supervised study time led by a Certified Teacher
  • Enrichment programming: Daily activities led by specialized instructors in music, visual art, dance, and more
  • Daily healthy snacks: Provided every morning and afternoon
  • PA Day programming:  Full-day coverage on all PA Days (snacks included; please send a lunch)

Program Hours

  • Morning: 7:30 – 9:00 AM
  • Afternoon: 3:00 – 6:00 PM

Transportation to and from school is included.

Extended Hours

Supervision and programming at Oak Learners runs from
7:30-9am and 3-6pm.
PA days – full-day supervision and activities included at no additional cost.

Enhanced programming through the arts, including daily dance, music, movement, art, and creative expression.

Waitlist & Enrollment

How does the waitlist work? Spaces for the 2026–27 school year are currently at capacity. Our program fills quickly, so joining the waitlist ensures you’ll be contacted in order as spots open up. Please note that submitting the form below does not confirm enrollment.

When will I hear back if a spot opens up? The waitlist is reviewed on an ongoing basis. As soon as a space becomes available that matches your child’s school and scheduling needs, we’ll reach out directly with next steps.

Does priority registration apply to all camps? Yes, enrolled B.A.S.E. Camp families receive priority access to Winter Holiday Break, March Break, and Summer Camp registrations.

 

Fees & Payment

Why is there a registration fee? Maintaining the high-quality care and specialized instruction Oak Learners is known for requiring planning well ahead of the school year. The enrollment deposit goes toward finalizing staffing, dedicated school routes, and enriched programming and is fully applied to your total program fees. For this reason, it is non-refundable and due upon enrollment to confirm your child’s placement.

When are fees due? The remaining balance is due by June 1, 2026. At that time, families may choose between a full payment option or one of the available installment schedules.

Are installment plans available? Offered as a convenience to families, installment plans are subject to a small administrative fee depending on the plan selected.

 

Music Lessons & Private Tutoring

Can I schedule music lessons and/or private tutoring during B.A.S.E. Camp hours? Absolutely. Music lessons and private tutoring can be booked during B.A.S.E. Camp hours, with a few things to keep in mind:

  • Priority Booking: B.A.S.E. Camp students are given scheduling priority to ensure sessions fall within the 3:00–6:00 PM program window.
  • Latest Start Time: Sessions for B.A.S.E. Camp students can begin no later than 6:00 PM.
  • Pick-Up: Regardless of session length, all students must be picked up by 7:00 PM.

Do I receive a discount on music lessons and/or private tutoring? As a B.A.S.E. Camp family, a specialized rate is available to you:

  • 10% Discount: Automatically applied to your Oak Learners online account.
  • How to Purchase: All extracurricular programs must be bought directly through our website to ensure the discount is applied correctly.
