**COVID-19 HEALTH AND SAFETY PROCEDURES**
Oak Learners regularly reviews and implements precautions and enhancements to our camps and programming to protect the health and safety of our campers and our staff, as per the guidelines from the Ontario Ministry of Health and Toronto Public Health. Read more HERE.
Oak Learners offers a unique summer camp experience designed to engage naturally inquisitive and active children.
Mindfulness: In addition to participating in guided yoga and meditation exercises, campers will participate in specially designed self-awareness activities, giving each camper time to be introspective, ask questions, relax and be creative.
STEAM: Through Science-Technology-Engineering-Arts-Math activities, campers will have the opportunity to develop their social skills, confidence and cognitive flexibility.
Community: Campers will spend as much time outdoors as possible, enjoying local field trips that are designed to encourage them to explore their natural surroundings and develop an understanding of their own roles in nature and in our surrounding community.
At our Eco Adventures Camp, campers will spend the ENTIRE DAY OUTSIDE exploring the local area and the beauty within it. They will experience learning in a different way, play outside and find out about the local community.
Campers will take trips to places such as the Humber River, Mimico Creek Trail, Humber Bay Shores and Mimico Waterfront. Campers will be fully outside and be regularly ‘on the move’.
Activities may include:
Campers will also have the opportunity to visit local splash pads and wading pools and you will be notified of “water days” to help pack accordingly.
With this being a fully outdoors camp, campers are strongly encouraged to pack lightly with everything they need for the whole day.
Our Eco Adventures Camp will only come indoors if it is necessary for campers and the counsellors safety. Counsellors will plan for ‘rainy days’ but may need to use an indoor location if there are extreme weather warnings.
Please pack a healthy, garbage-free lunch and enough snacks to last your child throughout the day.
Please send a reusable water bottle and appropriate footwear for walking, as all camps involved an element of outdoor exploration.
All Summer Day Camps run from 9am-4pm. Campers may be dropped off between 8:45am-9:00am and must be picked up between 4:00pm and 4:15pm. Extended hours available if needed for an additional fee.
Our extended day options are: 8:00am-9:00am ($50 per week) and/or 4:00pm-6:00pm ($50 per week). Registration for the extended day is per-week to allow us to plan for regular staffing and supervision.
Full payment must be received at the time of registration to reserve a spot for Summer Camps. All cancellations of summer camp programs made before June 1 of the same program year are subject to a 10% administration fee. All cancellations of summer camp programs made on or after June 1 of the same program year are subject to a 50% administration fee.
The above withdrawal policy is not applicable during a time of Force Majeure; an Act of God or circumstances beyond our control (i.e. pandemic, quarantine, natural disaster, etc.). In the case that Oak Learners is unable to provide comparable instructional programming through online learning methods, a credit towards tuition fees will be applied. All withdrawal requests made during the Force Majeure period will be provided with a credit, calculated as per the withdrawal policy towards a future program registration. The lifetime credit can be used towards any future Oak Learners program registration and is transferable to any immediate family member.
