origami jumping frogs

Origami, the art of folding a piece of paper and giving it life by turning it into anything; a bear, a plane, or a jumping frog! Folding origami requires diligence and accuracy while following the instructions. This activity will challenge children to think and find solutions to fold the paper accordingly and into its form. Origami may sharpen the children’s imagination and memory by creating the desired shape and channeling their creativity. Today, we will make origami jumping frogs!

Materials

  • Construction paper (any paper works fine)
  • Scissors
  • A black ink pen
  • Markers
  • Googly eyes (optional)

Video Instructions

Extend the Activity!

You can engage in conversation by asking what happens if the children adjust the pressure with their fingertip. Using different paper types, such as cardstock, lined paper to fold the origami jumping frogs, is another great way to extend the activity. Different weights of paper can affect how high they jump! A friendly competition can also be conducted to see whose frog can jump the furthest. 😊

Enjoy making Origami Jumping Frogs!
