Re. Bridge the Gap
My 7 year old daughter started attending Oak Learners Bridge the Gap program 4 full days a week this September and she has never been happier or more confident about school! Not only does she want to go every day, she is excited about learning. In the three weeks she has been attending she has started to read with enthusiasm. From the time she was in JK until last June she has struggled in school and even became fearful of going (she was absent more than she attended). Since the first day she started at Oak Learners, she has been incredibly positive about attending school. We are blown away by the change in her! Her teachers understand and adjust to her unique learning needs and they know how to engage her so she loves the process of learning. We are so thankful for our daughter to be having such a wonderful experience at Oak Learners!
Oak Learners offers a safe and inclusive learning environment for primary school children. Alternative education with an holstic approach, each child is celebrated as an individual and encouraged to push boundaries and challenge norms, social awareness and daily forages into the community assist in the development of young minds preparing them to grab the bull by the horns and become active members in their community. Kudos Oak Learners, Toronto needs more schools like you!
Parents of children with special needs can grow absolutely gun shy when it comes to attempting to try new classes or start relationships with new centres/organizations. I cannot tell you how may times I have dropped off a delighted, zest filled Chance to a fun new program only to return to a frustrated, bewildered teacher who “wasn’t sure this was a good fit” for him and a deflated little sad faced Chance who ascertained that he had somehow blown it again but typically wasn’t sure why. Picking him up from you guys during his camp week was like a beautiful dream. Truly.
Oak Learners is an amazing place. I saw my son who was scared and an introvert just become his true self, full of initiative and confidence. I appreciate Kelly and Leigh so much and plan to have Oak Learners part of their lives for ever.
It was my son’s first time at camp (he’s 4.5 years old). He absolutely loved it and was a little sad it was over. I loved that they challenged him. Everyday was an activity that incorporated art, music, movement and fun. cant wait to return next summer for day camp. The teachers were AWESOME and the location is so welcoming. Highly recommend.
Oak Learners offers the perfect arts and mindfulness extra-curricular activities for our daughter. It is also conveniently located, innovative and Kelly and her team show lots of empathy and professionalism.

Written by: Kelly Letros – Behaviour Therapist During spring break, I was enthused to spend my week with children who had registered for a week-long camp program. Daily, they were running to and fro through the corridors of the centre, from one pre-planned activity to another.
